Van Voorhis manages the student MBA experience from the time they accept admission through graduation. She also collaborates with faculty to drive policies for academic excellence and develop MBA student growth opportunities.
“Hearing about the achievements of current students and our MBA alumni brings me the most satisfaction,” she said. Lehigh’s MBA program attracts top-caliber working professionals, “and these students accomplish amazing things during their careers.”
Van Voorhis said she was lucky enough to meet her mentor, Mary Gulick, when she started at Lehigh in 2009. “Not only did Mary impart essential program and institutional knowledge, but she also taught me the importance of maintaining a ‘student first’ mindset in everything that I do in my role.”
She encouraged anyone entering higher education to figure out their core values and let those tenets guide them. “For me, a human-centered approach that keeps students’ interests at the heart of my decisions and interactions has served me well in my career so far.”
