Marvin E. Flewellen majored in Computational Mathematics at DePauw and earned a
M.B.A. in 1990 from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a
specialization in Financial Management. Mr. Flewellen has earned the right to use
the Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, he holds NASD (FINRA) licenses;
Series 6, 7, and 63 and has 35 years of investment management experience.
Mr. Flewellen currently serves as Head of Client Management, Investments for
Invesco Ltd., a global investment management firm he joined in 2003. His
responsibilities are to lead the client centric framework to institutional clients globally
across market sectors. He primarily resides within fixed income, but does oversee
several balance mandates.
He began his investment career at Northern Trust in Chicago (1985 to 1994), after a
four year internship. He then accepted a role at Duff & Phelps Investment
Management (1994-2000) as a Senior Vice President to lead the Enhanced Cash
business and eventually broader fixed income strategies/trading. He then
moved to Scudder Investments (2000-2002), where he was the firm's Senior Product
Specialist/Senior Client Portfolio Manager responsible for the Institutional fixed
income platform.
Mr. Flewellen has been active within his community, with an emphasis on education and
financial empowerment. He has served on several boards; including those of the United
Way South Suburbs, Olympia Fields' Business Council, National Association of
Black MBA Chicago, and Urban Bankers Chicago. He is an active member of the 100
Black Men of Atlanta, a premier mentoring group, and is a current elected director to the
board. He has also been very active in leadership roles within his various church
memberships over the years, most recently Chairman of the Trustee Board, Cascade
United Methodist Church 2021. He and his wife, Caren, also own Crown Trophy
Marietta, an award and recognition business. An active awards/trophies distributor in
the Atlanta community.

Mr. Flewellen received the DePauw's Young Alumni of the Year Award in 1999 and
has served DePauw in various leadership capacities, most notably 16 years on
the Board of Trustees (2002-2018) and chaired the Endowment Committee for 5
years (2009-2014).
